At Derek O'Brien Creative Solutions Limited, we are committed to providing clear, upfront and transparent pricing, as well as open communication throughout our services. Our goal is to ensure that our clients fully understand the costs associated with our services and receive timely updates regarding their projects.
Before starting any project, we provide a detailed estimate outlining the scope of work, deliverables, timeline and associated costs.
Estimates are based on the required scope, complexity, project timeline and delivery.
Associated cost such as third party fees are provided as a guidance only as pricing is outside the control of DOBCS.
DOBCS uses two transparent pricing structures, depending on the nature and urgency of the work:
Value-based projects and retainers are quoted as fixed prices based on a clearly defined scope, rather than hourly billing. Fixed pricing does not mean unlimited development: if the scope of work changes, new requirements are introduced, or the project grows beyond the original agreed understanding, DOBCS will highlight this and provide an updated estimate or a separate quote before proceeding. This ensures that both parties remain clear on what is included and how any additional work will be handled.
All pricing details will be clearly outlined in our proposal and aligned to the scope of the work requested.
Any additional work beyond the original scope will require client approval before proceeding at an agreed additional cost.
All Fixed Project Pricing is payable in advance prior to any work starting unless otherwise agreed in advance.
All Retainer Rates are billed on a quarterly basis in advance for the duration of the contracted agreement.
All projects begin with a detailed project brief to ensure alignment between DOBCS and the client.
We use email, spreadsheets, project management tools (such as Trello) and scheduled video calls to keep clients informed.
Weekly, bi-weekly or monthly updates (based on project size and scope) will be provided to ensure transparency on progress, roadblocks, or any required client input.
All project scope is planned in advanced and mapped to milestones, clients will be given regular updates and oppertunities when possible to review work throughout the project depending on the size and scope of the project.
Maintenance and Security retainers follow a pre-planned schedule, clients are notified when tasks are completed.
Development retainers typically require advanced planning and tasks will be agreed with the client at least one month in advanced before work commences, the client will be notified when tasks are completed with the oppertunity to review and feedback.
Regular reports (typically monthly) summarising completed tasks and upcoming work will be shared.
If a client requests modifications beyond pre-agreed scope, a change request process will be followed, including a revised estimate and timeline. Clients should note that change requests and/or revisions can effect delivery if requests are provided with short notice, or changes/revisions are substantial. This can lead to project delivery delay outside DOBCS control.
All changes/revisions are subject to client approval before implementation.
We aim to respond to all client inquiries within 24 business hours.
Are available for all clients on retainer plans as part of their retained hours as a prority, where client retained hours are available during normal DOBCS business hours.
While we strive to honor all scheduled work, emergency or critical issues may occasionally need to take priority. This ensures that urgent matters are resolved promptly, in the best interest of all clients.
Clients outside of contracted work can recieve emergency support for security and critical issues during DOBCS business hours when capacity is available only at a premium hourly rate.
All project work delivered by DOBCS includes a warranty (bug fix) period from the date of launch or formal acceptance (as defined in the proposal or statement of work). During this period, DOBCS will fix genuine defects in the delivered work at no additional cost.
A “defect” means the website or feature does not behave as described in the agreed scope or specification, when used as intended, on the supported browsers and devices documented for the project.
The warranty covers reasonable time to investigate and resolve defects, but it does not provide unlimited free development. If investigation shows that fixing an issue would require significantly more effort than was originally estimated to build that feature (for example, because the underlying requirement is more complex than originally understood), DOBCS will:
The warranty does not cover:
This approach ensures defects are put right promptly, while larger changes or newly discovered complexity are handled transparently as additional scope rather than assumed to be unlimited free support.
By maintaining transparency in pricing and communication, we ensure that our clients have a seamless and trustworthy experience working with us for their WordPress development needs.
